Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients
Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
Preparing pastry fillings
Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits
Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment

What you need to get your skills assessed for this occupation.

The Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) is a skills assessment program for overseas applicants seeking skilled migration to Australia. Successful applicants receive recognition of their skills and experience at the required level for their nominated occupation for use in visa applications to the Department of Home Affairs.

Important note

Keep the email receipt as proof of payment. Refunds are not given if you do not meet eligibility requirements, withdraw after assessment has started, or fail to provide documents in specified timeframes. TRA does not accept applications sent by email. The MSA outcome can only be used for visa applications to Home Affairs for migration purposes, not for employment, licensing, or qualification-recognition purposes. Check that your documents are not locked or password protected before uploading."

Eligibility Criteria

4 criteria
  • Have a qualification directly related to your nominated occupation
  • Have the required amount of directly relevant employment in your occupation (see MSA Applicant Guidelines for specific requirements)
  • Your occupation must be listed on a skilled occupation list with TRA listed as the relevant assessing authority
  • Not applying for Offshore Skills Assessment Program (OSAP), Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS), or Skills Assessment Program
  • Passport details
  • Qualification details or apprenticeship documentation
  • Employment details for each employment period being claimed
  • Pay evidence (if multiple pages, combine into one PDF)
  • All documents scanned in full colour at high resolution (minimum 150dpi) as PDF files
  • Documents must show original translator stamp and signature if translated
  • Documents must not be locked or password protected
