This page outlines changes to the Australian Dental Council's initial assessment process, effective immediately as of October 2021, which streamlines requirements by reducing documentation needs and eliminating the need for document certification.
Important note
As of the October 2021 changes, candidates no longer need to certify their documents or provide evidence of total theoretical and clinical hours, course dates, work experience, professional references, or work history. Existing applications in processing will be assessed under the new process and their place in the queue will not be affected. Applications with pending additional documents will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and some candidates may no longer need to provide certain documents.
Eligibility Criteria
3 criteria- Candidates completing an initial assessment for registration
- Candidates completing a skills assessment
- Candidates completing a combined skills and initial assessment
- Current passport (high quality colour copy)
- Passport photo
- Evidence of change of name (if required)
- Dental qualification, official certificate, or testamur
- Academic transcript
- Evidence of registration or licence to practise dentistry
- Certificate or letter of good standing from the organisation responsible for regulating dental registration or dental licence in your country of practice (must be sent directly to ADC; digital copies accepted via email from the registering authority due to COVID-19)
