The AOAC (Australian Osteopathic Accreditation Council) conducts skills assessments of overseas-trained osteopaths for registration in Australia and skilled migration purposes through two main pathways: Standard Pathway Assessment (SPA) and Competent Authority Pathway (CAP), each with multiple assessment stages.

AOAC offers two assessment pathways: Standard Pathway Assessment (SPA) with 5 stages and Competent Authority Pathway (CAP) with different stage requirements. The SPA format changed in 2020 with stages 2-4 being new assessments. AOAC does not assess for New Zealand (refer to OCNZ), does not employ osteopaths, advise on visas/immigration, or process training applications. Eligibility Criteria
4 criteria- Hold an osteopathic qualification benchmarked as academically equivalent to an Australian or New Zealand Bachelor degree
- If first language is not English or course was not delivered in English, must provide evidence of English language proficiency test completion
- Candidates from any country (including UK) eligible for Standard Pathway Assessment
- Can apply for skilled migration assessment or registration in Australia
- Proof of osteopathic qualification benchmarked as equivalent to Australian/New Zealand Bachelor degree
- Evidence of English language proficiency test (if first language not English or course not delivered in English)
