This page describes the two-stage skills assessment process for overseas chiropractors seeking to migrate and register in Australia/New Zealand, comprising a desktop audit followed by a three-part competency-based assessment.
Important note
Candidates must choose the appropriate application form based on their country of citizenship and accreditation status of their chiropractic program. Five different types of applicant forms are available. If documentation cannot initially be provided, the Desktop Audit Team may work with candidates to find alternate documentation. Visa costs are the responsibility of candidates. Failure to attend scheduled assessments due to visa or travel arrangement issues will be considered a withdrawal and fees will apply. Hard copies of documents can be mailed to GPO Box 622, Canberra, ACT, 2601, Australia if electronic copies are unavailable.
Eligibility Criteria
4 criteria- All candidates seeking to migrate and/or register in Australia/New Zealand
- Must complete Stage 1 Desktop Audit application (undertaken from candidate's country of residence)
- Must successfully complete Stage 2 Competency Based Assessment (undertaken in Australia or New Zealand)
- Completion of Cultural Safety Training for Chiropractors is mandatory
- CCEA Application Form (appropriate form based on country of citizenship and chiropractic program accreditation status)
- Academic transcript (emailed directly to CCEA Skills Assessment Team)
- Letter of good standing (emailed directly to CCEA Skills Assessment Team)
- Supporting documents substantiating qualifications and skills
- Evidence of completion of Cultural Safety Training for Chiropractors
