The Offshore Skills Assessment Program is a mandatory skills assessment for overseas applicants in nominated occupations seeking skilled migration to Australia. It determines whether applicants can work in Australia at the required skill level for their nominated occupation.
Important note
The program has 2 pathways: Pathway 1 is for applicants without a relevant Australian VET qualification; Pathway 2 is for applicants with a relevant Australian VET qualification or current identified Australian occupation licence without restrictions. This program is compulsory for permanent migration in the following licensed occupations: Electrician (General), Electrician (Special Class), Plumber (General), and Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic. Eligibility Criteria
5 criteria- Work in a nominated occupation from the Offshore Skills Assessment Occupation List
- Hold a current and valid passport from a nominated country or Special Administrative Region (SAR)
- Have relevant work experience in your Nominated Occupation
- Be employed or recently employed in your Nominated Occupation with proof of employment
- Be able to travel to an approved assessment venue if required
- Current and valid passport
- Proof of employment in your Nominated Occupation
- Documentary evidence related to your qualifications and experience
- Evidence of Australian VET qualification (if applying under Pathway 2)
- Evidence of current identified Australian occupation licence without restrictions (if applying under Pathway 2)
