The Credentialed Community Language (CCL) Test is an online skills assessment by NAATI that evaluates ability to communicate at a community level between English and another language. It is used to claim points for points-based skilled migration visas in Australia.
Important note
Test is available online only in 55 languages and is not a professional certification—passing does not certify you to work as an interpreter or translator. Tests run at least 4 times per year (monthly for high demand languages). Passing score is 63 or more with minimum 29 marks in each dialogue. Credentials issued from 9 August 2022 onwards are valid for 5 years; older credentials valid for 3 years. Bookings close 1 week before test date. Rescheduling allowed up to 8 days before test (no cost). 75% refund available if cancelled at least 1 hour before scheduled start time. Candidates must read full candidate instructions and verify equipment suitability before test day.
Eligibility Criteria
7 criteria- Upper intermediate language skills (B2 level CEFR) in both English and the other test language
- Suitable equipment: laptop or computer with camera, microphone, speakers, and latest Google Chrome browser
- Reliable internet connection with at least 10mbps download speed, 1.5mbps upload speed, and 25ms latency or less
- Personal device (not work/university/library computer)
- Must not use public internet connection
- Valid identity document for application verification
- No formal training prerequisites required
