This page describes Part 3 of the Australian Psychological Society's Supervisor Training Program, which is a competency-based assessment component delivered online that evaluates supervisory skills through audio-visual recordings and written reflections.
Important note
Part 3 is the final component of a three-part supervisor training program. Trainees who have not completed all three parts are ineligible to supervise. The supervisee in the role-play may be another psychologist or colleague. If unsuccessful after 3 attempts, participants must re-enrol and repeat Parts 1 and 2 before re-attempting Part 3. Participants can request a review of assessment outcomes by contacting the provided email address. The APS reports results data annually to the Psychology Board of Australia.
Eligibility Criteria
4 criteria- Must have completed Part 2: Skills training (or equivalent) with a Board-approved Provider within 6 months prior to Part 3 enrolment
- For those with equivalent training from another Board-approved Provider, must submit an electronic certificate of completion upon enrolment
- Must be registered on the Register of Practitioners
- Must submit assessment tasks within 6 months of completing Part 2 Skills training
- Documented evidence of successful completion of Part 2: Skills training (or equivalent)
- Electronic certificate of completion (if Part 2 equivalent was completed with another Board-approved Provider)
- Audio-visual recording of a supervision session (maximum 45 minutes)
- Written reflection piece with self-evaluation of supervisor competencies (800-1,000 words)
